RESIST online is a videogame for young people between 12 and 18 years old. It was designed by the New Media art collective Personal Cinema, in collaboration with ELPIDA Drug Prevention Centre. The basic character of the game gets involved in certain everyday situations and challenges that he has to face. Events at the school, at home, at a party and on the Internet, shape an environment of pressure, tension and strong emotions. How can he possibly react while he is under the influence of so different ambiences and people?
The game offers various possibilities of interaction that reflect different ways of facing the situations. While avoiding being didactic or rewarding ''good'' or ''bad'' behaviours, the game leaves the conclusions and explanations to the player depending on her/ his choices.
The current version of RESIST online is a first effort to create an educational online game; future extensions and upgrades are expected. Any comments and ideas on game’s further development are welcome and important. RESIST was released for the first time in 2007, as a CD-ROM and it was awarded in November 2008 in Warsaw by the Pompidou Group and the European Council.
